You sigh and put down the newspaper in your apartment. It's been a little over a week since Kaito Kid released his notice, and for once you weren't being pulled into his scheme. Conan had discovered the theft was taking place on Monday, out at a party at the base of Hossawa Falls. The gem in question was called the Green Gilded Isle; an emerald which had veins of gold threaded through the gem.
I am absolutely happy I'm not being pulled into this mess, you thought. I'll have the whole evening to myself, and I haven't been asked or pulled along by Sonoko. She already got an invitation to the party, and Ran will be there with Conan and her dad. "I'm glad I wasn't personally asked by that thief to help him steal his next target," you said aloud. Aw, who am I

“Perhaps he thought you would be a willing participant,” Ran answered.
“Well, for that matter, why did he take you, (Name)?” Sonoko raised an eyebrow with her question.
“Probably to hide the fact he was impersonating you,” you grumbled.
A couple of nights ago was the Sakura Diamond heist. Sonoko’s original plan was to be kidnapped by KID, get a kiss, and brag to everyone how she had stolen a kiss from KID. Instead, he had knocked out Sonoko, stolen and re-stolen the Sakura Diamond, took you to the rooftop, and stole a kiss from you. When the police finally arrived, you answered KID went towards the moonset after giving the diamond back to you. Since then, Sonoko has been pressing you for details on your interaction with KID.
“Well, here we are again, walking home from school.

I have a challenge for you.
Within a snow covered valley
A cherry flower buds.
All is surrounded by silence,
Not even the wind dares sigh.
Will you be able to find
The real cherry flower?
Will you be able to steal
The flower’s heart?
“…And where did you get this crazy idea Sonoko?” Ran asked.
Sonoko laughed. “Well, since Ojisan recently bought the Sakura Diamond, I just thought to help him make an anti-heist plan.”
“Will Kid-san even want to steal such a small diamond though?” you asked.
“Even if the gem doesn’t fit his normal requirements, I’m certain he’ll come! Kaito KID never backs down from a challenge. If everything goes well, I’ll be able to be the first girl to steal a kiss from the elusive thief!” Sonoko took a breath. “Then he won’t help bu

Chapter 1: Unexplainable Deaths
Saguru Hakuba, a famous and recently graduated high school detective, let out a deep breath as he reclined against the wall of the alleyway he was standing in. On his way back home from the local grocery store he’d stumbled upon a case that was going absolutely nowhere. The victim was Mr. George Crowley, 49 years old, owner of the local sporting goods store, respected father, husband, and head of the neighborhood watch in Rook Heights (a little suburb town on the edge of London). By all appearances and according to the coroner, the man had just dropped dead in the alleyway behind his store roughly 30 hours ago. There was no visible evidence to even hint at what could have been the cause of death – no signs that the victim had been strangled, bludgeoned, stabbed, shot, poisoned, etc. – but all the same, the victim was in fact very dead. To top it all off, there were no witnesses. The victim’s wife had been
